About the city
Rabat is the capital of the Kingdom of Morocco and the third-largest city in it. It located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. Rabat is famous for the textile industry and the University of Mohammed V, which is the first modern university founded in the Kingdom.
About the twinning agreement
In September 1999, a cooperation agreement signed between the Bethlehem Municipality, represented by its then-mayor Mr Hanna Nasser, and the Municipality of Al-Rabat, represented by its then-mayor Mr Abdel Fattah Sbata. The agreement included technical, financial and administrative cooperation through the study of projects related to the management and development of public utilities, as well as the exchange of frameworks and regulations in these fields between the two cities. It also included cultural, educational, economic and commercial cooperation between the two.
